Two Classic VW Kombi Vans and KOMB1 plate
These legendary classic cars, with widespread appeal and love, are up for sale as a package. They can be used for business, or as private car or restoration projects.
The cars have been used as promotion vehicles and event props (bars / displays etc), commanding rental fees of between HKD 3,000 – 8,000 per day. Due to changing business interests of the owners, the cars are now up for sale and could be a fun project or business for any new buyer.
1976 Kombi – Black
The vehicle registration has currently lapsed, but it can be re-registered after passing the vehicle inspection. Some minor work needs to be completed ahead of vehicle inspection (repairing a light and gear linkage).
The car was converted to open at the top, but was recently welded closed. The car can be wrapped in vinyl, and used as a static or moving advertisement, wedding car, or just as a private car / restoration project.
The Kombi has a full reconditioned (in Holland) 1600cc petrol engine and has less than 5000 kms on the engine. The car has new shock absorbers, gear linkages, battery, alternator and many other new parts. Mechanically, the car is in good shape and runs on a 12V wiring system. The bodywork needs rust repair / panel replacement due to age, weather exposure, and sealing of the roof. However, when wrapped in vinyl, the car looks great.
As an added bonus, the car comes with a the registration plate KOMB1 which was purchased at auction.
1975 Kombi – blue, red, white
This Kombi is used as a event car in Hong Kong. The car has never been registered in Hong Kong, or had a vehicle inspection.
The car opens at the top and can be used for events as a bar or display, where it can command a rental fee of between HKD 4,000-8,000 per day!
The car is often wrapped in vinyl so the paint work is damaged. However, the bodywork is sound and the car is mostly rust free having benefitted from a back to metal bodywork and paint job around three years ago.
The Kombi has a 1600cc engine is fully reconditioned. The car has new shock absorbers,, battery, alternator and many other new parts and comes with Porsche style wheels. Mechanically, the car is in good shape. This car runs on a 6V wiring system.
