Additional Information
Rewind thirty-something years and if you drove a W123 Estate, especially the 280TE, you were a somebody!… An absolute Gold Standard car, this model was revered in the way the £160,000+ G-Wagen is praised today.
Our car has travelled just 68,500 careful miles, and the condition really is as close to perfect as we’d ever dare to claim. The paint on the entire car, we believe, is completely original.
What better colour combination than Anthracite Grey Metallic with a Tan cloth interior, light cloth headlining, and light carpets, although these are also now protected by high-quality and period look Coco floor mats, including the boot space.
Our car features Mexican hat alloy wheels, manually operated sunroof, headlamp wash/wipe, cruise control, centre armrest and original Blaupunkt FM Radio with electric Hirschman aerial.
Four keepers in total, but with three believed to be from the same family who bought the car new in March 1983, and the latest for six years from 2014. For most of its life, this car resided at a Links Road, Poole, address which is a very prestigious address on the south coast. Befitting its home, this car has clearly been cherished and maintained impeccably, as more than 15 service stamps can attest. In the last handful of years the car has had belts replaced, plus, fitment of new front and rear brake callipers, and correct period-fitment Michelin tyres replaced in 2014, albeit, that’s only 3,000 miles ago.
It is supplied complete with correct clear-wallet book pack which retains Owner’s Manual, Handbook, instructions for the radio and the Maintenance Record, valid MOT, spare key, and a number of invoices for past maintenance.
