Sometimes a classic car just has that ‘look’…. This car certainly has it.
The clean lines of it being a narrow-bodied car. The purity of the design vs. functionality. The way it sits; poised, and purposeful. We can’t describe it, but you just get it….
Perhaps it’s the beautiful Light Ivory paintwork, as per its factory original colours, or the contrasting and exceedingly supportive RennSport RS80 sports seats in black leather with black corduroy inserts, or maybe the ease with which the car fires to life and immediately idles happily…. Whatever it is, this car has it in spades….
This 911E 2.2 is a 1970 car from the USA as confirmed by its accompanying Certificate of Authenticity. The same document confirms that this is indeed a matching numbers car with 5-speed 901 gearbox, and its Light Ivory paintwork is the same as it wore all those years ago. The subject of massive restoration works in the Netherlands from 2010 – 2014, the result is impressive with a very intentional sympathy toward originality and correctness both topside and underside. With only some 8,000+ kms travelled since this time our 911E still presents beautifully and we can’t imagine the person who wouldn’t be proud to own her.
Post-restoration this car has had two owners in the UK, the latest of which has enjoyed driving on the continent when allowed. Our first drive in this 911E confirmed our suspicion that this was a good ‘un, performing incredibly well with a tightness and a precision befitting the quality of its restoration.
Serviced thoroughly in 2020 and used only modestly since we are delighted to offer this special car for sale and are excited to see who the lucky person will be to take up the mantle….
