Whilst time may not flatter Bond’s outing in ‘Die Another Day’, nothing about that movie was going to upstage or outdo the Vanquish that featured anyway!

The dramatic and instantly recognisable aluminium body, styled by Ian Callum, sets the stage for the equally dramatic 6.0 V12 engine which propels this car effortlessly, and seemingly endlessly. Not content with that, then the ‘S’ model as featured here turns the wick up even further from 460bhp to a dizzying 520bhp. This would prove enough to get you into the 200mph+ club, assuming you were brave enough.

Only a little over 1,000 Vanquish ‘S’ were built, making them exceptionally rare, and with fewer than 24,000 miles, rarer still.

Enter our car; A 2004 model, in eye-catching Toro Red with bold Iron Ore interior, it’s not a usual choice we see amongst the sea of ‘safe’ Black, Grey and Silver Aston Martin’s, but that said, it actually works. A statement car, if ever a 500+ bhp sports car needed a greater statement…

As you’d expect, both the paintwork and the cabin of this car show only the slightest evidence of wear, which is true also of the performance and liveliness of this car which is simply breath-taking.

Backed with extensive history from Aston Martin themselves, the clutch, flywheel and ASM transmission pump were replaced in December 2010 in a bill totalling close to £10,000, and this was fewer than 9,000 miles ago. Engine pulleys and tensioner drive belt were also replaced by AM in May 2015, fewer than 3,000 miles ago.

The accompanying folder contains all receipts for work carried out, compiled in such a manner that fits the attention to care given to the car over the years. The MOT history further illustrates the modest use and extensive care it’s had throughout its life. We don’t think you could find a more alluring example, and certainly not in this budget range….
