From Road Car to Racing History – Original GTB with Challenge Background
This Ferrari 348 TB was delivered as a standard GTB road version, already distinct from earlier TB models thanks to its increased power of 235 kW. Around 1994–1995, it was converted by an official Ferrari dealer (not documented) with the factory Challenge kit, after which it participated in the Ferrari Challenge Cup – Ferrari’s official customer racing program.
As part of this conversion, the car received several features typical of Challenge models:
– Roll cage
– Racing seats with harnesses
– Challenge exhaust and modified suspension
– Upgraded brakes and adjusted ECU (not documented)
While not an original Competizione, this car shares many technical and visual similarities with the 348 GT Competizione launched in 1993, of which only 50 units were built. Think of similar interior configuration, sporty tuning, and an analog driving experience.
Note: as with all 348 GTB models, the steering wheel still bears the “TB” logo, even on Challenge versions – this is correct and original.
