Porsche 911 2.7RS
These days it seems that the best investments for classic cars are Ferrari. In particular the 250GTO; though already out of reach for most of us. Another fascinating car that isn’t the most powerful, nor the prettiest; is the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS.
According to research from various auctioneers , the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS is the quickest-appreciating vehicle in the past decade, at least in the UK. In 2004, prices hovered around HK$790,000 (non HK registered) but buying one today would set you back over HK$6 million, that would put it close to HK$10 million after registering it in Hong Kong! Rarer lightweight models go for even more. Don’t be fooled by the amount of replica’s you see on the streets of Hong Kong, though they look just as impressive, and for half a million dollars, why wouldn’t you want to re-create history?
Here is a great, humble video below of a well looked after Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS – we’re just glad that it doesn’t sit in a museum and someone has the balls to drive it HARD!
